I have always thought that the hidden music present in Halo Reach, Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3 is quite a melancholy piece.
In actuality, it is a piece of music called "The Siege of Madrigal" from one of Bungie's prior games, that being Myth: The Fallen Lords.

I have no idea if it was supposed to come across that way, but I think that it is, especially in the way you have to get to it.

For every instance of finding the secret, you would have to go to a specific location, often out of bounds or in a place where you would not typically wait for anything.
The one that I remember best is Halo CE, where you have to stay inside the pelican even after it was supposed to drop you off in the level Assault on the Control Room.
There is a specific point that you have to drop out of the pelican, and I remember more vividly than anything else trying and failing several times to make the jump.

Then, I made it.

And the music started playing.

I had never actually heard the piece before, and so I was just standing, looking over the edge of the map -
I had dropped off the pelican into an out of bounds area which overlooked death - and I just listened to it.

I think I actually cried, if I remember.

Maybe I am just sentimental. I do not know. But the tune means a lot to me now.

...Oh, you are lost, are you not? Let us find your way back home.
